A Bit about the club....
The Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club (MBTBC) is located at 34 Fairlead Crescent in the premier position of the Manly Boat Harbour next to and just North of the William Gunn Manly Jetty.
The Club caters for most types of fishing and boating with active groups for Deep Sea & Inshore Fishing, Sailing, Diving, Radio Room operations and our South Stradbroke Island, Haven facilities. Their exciting & eventful calendar will keep you entertained all year.
The Manly Clubhouse is your harbourside escape. The fully licence Baywatchers bar and family Bistro captures views across the beautiful clear waters of Moreton Bay reaching out to Moreton Island to the North and Stradbroke Island to the South.

A bit about our facilities...
Southern Haven (MBTBC)
Burst out of winter hibernation and bask in the warm Queensland Tropical sun.
Escape to your down the Bay facility “Southern Haven”. Here is a quick overview of this fabulous South Stradbroke Island.
Location
Southern Haven is situated on the west side of South Stradbroke Island, approximately 1 (one) kilometers south of “TIPPLERS RESORT”. The Attached diagram show it’s location and relevant land/sea marks.Anchorage
There is plenty of space to moor your boat, any size, in any weather condition, inside the Green Beacon in front of our complex. The bottom is mud with a foreshore of sand.Facilities
Large under cover area is available including kitchen, with tables and benches for all types of functions and general use. Well protected giving good all weather protection all year round.Toilets, Showers & Laundry
All accessed with your Club key, hot water is provided by instant gas system, with a coin operated gas meter located in the laundry. Your donation of $1 operates this hot water for each shower.Kitchen
Gas operated BBQ, stove/oven, three gas rings and hot water are all operated by your donation of $1.00 coin into the gas meter located to the right hand side of the BBQ. Some cooking utensils are provided in the kitchen.Water
Tank water is provided for drinking at nominated labeled taps, while other taps are from bore water, which is not recommended for drinking. The bore water supply held in a tank on the stand behind the building is also pumped through the building by a 24-volt system. When the bore water tank gauge shows ½ the generator will automatically be turned “on” and “off” after a set time period.Electricity
This is provided by a diesel driven generator supplying 240 volt. To turn this system ‘on’ or ‘off’ push the start/stop button on the wall in the laundry, please read instructions. The generator must run with a load so please leave all lights on during the day.Camping
There is limited camping are on both side of the ‘HAVEN’. It must be remembered that all camping comes under control of the Ranger and fees can be charged.Swimming
Safe swimming can be enjoyed in front of the ‘HAVEN’ and kids can play on the sandy beaches but parents should be vigilant with young children. Swimming is not recommended on the EASTERN side of the island, as there are dangerous rips with no patrolled beaches. This eastern beach is only a 20 minute walk from the ‘HAVEN’ by following the signs. There is good fishing in the surf gutters opposite the track.Identification
Please bring your Member Card and Club key, also the Haven Refundable Key ($50), which allows you entry to toilets, showers and cooking, with you to the Haven. The Haven is owned by the MBTBC and operated by the Club members. You will be asked to show your card, and sign the visitors book.MBTBC HARD STAND at MANLY
Only Full financial members can lease hardstand spaces. Hardstand storage is located around the fence line of the car park.
To obtain Hardstand parking please contact the Office staff. Please be aware that there may be a waiting list for Hardstand spaces. In this case you will need to be a Full financial member to join the waiting list.
MBTBC RADIO ROOM
The MBTBC radio station call sign, VKQ 447, is a licensed Limited Coast Station. It operates to provide members and the general boating public with a safety service by recording boat movements, providing weather forecasts, tide times, etc. and arranging assistance from Coast Guard or Volunteer Marine Rescue units when required. Members are encouraged to log on with the station when going out on the water during its hours of operation and with the Coast Guard on weekends and public holidays.
Club members who hold marine radio operator's certificates man the station on a voluntary basis. It operates 3 shifts between 0700 and 2130 Monday to Thursday and 0700 to 1730 on Friday, except public holidays; then handing over to Brisbane Coast Guard until 0700 Monday morning.
VKQ 447 also maintains a listening watch for the Coast Guard Redland Bay and Volunteer Marine Rescue Units at North Stradbroke Island, Victoria Point and Raby Bay when those stations are unattended. Frequencies monitored are 27 MHz channels 88 and 90, VHF channels 16, 21, 67, 73, 80, 81 and 82 and HF/MF frequency 2524. VKQ 447 is a highly respected station in central Moreton Bay and operators are always required. If you have a few hours to spare once a fortnight, either day or night, and have a radio operator's certificate or prepared to get one, you are welcome to do a shift and enjoy the camaraderie of the Club down by the water's edge.
