MBTBC Marina Discounts

In order to expedite the construction of a new toilet and shower block for MBTBC Marina plus more pokies for the Club, MBTBC has decided to extend the discount period on purchase of new berths.

We must sell these new berths to achieve our expansion goals and are therefore offering heavy discounts of up to $76,000.  Visit the Marina Sales section for details.

Taking Care at the Club

These days everyone is busy. Getting to the Club can be far too infrequent, and once you’re here getting that boat in the water is priority. However it is in these rushing moments that accidents can happen. The Club provides a place for like minded boaties and their families to relax and enjoy our stunning Moreton Bay, in a safe and secure environment. Each time you park your car and trailer at the Club, you have the right to have confidence that you will return to your belongings as you left them. We have had a couple of incidents recently where Members have run into other Members cars or trailers and haven’t even left a note. Not only is this against the Club constitution, this also goes against the Australian way of looking out for your mates. We ask all Members to be careful and respectful every time they visit the Club – look out for your mates and be a proud and conscientious MBTBC Member.

New Marina Berth Release

More Showers, More Toilets, More Pokies

Continuing our quest for the best MBTBC is adding more showers and more toilets at MBTBC Marina and more pokies in the Clubhouse. To do this we need to raise some dollars and have therefore decided to offer more discounts (up to $76,000) on our new berths.
Visit Marina Sales @ www.mbtbc.com to view our current price list.

Our Marina has the best access to Manly town centre and to the Bay; we now have undercover parking and will soon have a brand new amenities block. We also have a Shipyard and fuel on site and are located only 30 seconds walk from the Clubhouse.

Whether you’re buying or renting MBTBC Marina makes it easy to experience the best the Bay has to offer.

Introducing The Social Cruise Group

The Social Cruise Group is one of our most active sub-groups, with monthly meetings and regular events organised by a very enthusiastic bunch of Members. Captainess Ann Sheriff says that everyone is welcome to share in the fun that the SCG organize. “It doesn’t matter if you have a runabout, a sailing boat, a cruiser… all boats and people are welcome in the Social Cruise Group” says Ann. Another welcoming face of the SCG is Vice-Captain Bruce Richardson, who says that the group is always happy to welcome more Members into the SCG circle. Bruce points out that Members of other sub-groups are invited to participate in the SCG also.

The SCG meet on the second Sunday of every month at 4:30pm in the Clubhouse to plan upcoming events and think of even more ways to have fun in and around the beautiful bay. They focus on Member input – everyone’s ideas are taken into account and accommodated. Their next event is an overnighter at The Haven, booked in for the 17th and 18th of July. Plans are to leave from either Manly or Jacobs Well for a nice calm crossing to the Club’s home-away-from-home.  Ann and Bruce extend an invitation to this get-away to all Full Members of the Club and their family and friends.  In fact they invite Members to participate in all their meetings and events. “We’re a casual group of boaties who like to have fun and love supporting our Club, but we’re also very serious about educating and practicing safe boating”, Ann also mentions that they are often found at the Clubhouse on a Friday or Saturday night enjoying dinner and entertainment.

Quick Facts about the Social Cruise Group
• Not familiar with the bay? There is a lot of experience in the group and they are more than happy to help all Members learn confidence and safety while boating.
• Size and Shape doesn’t matter. All boats are welcome in the SCG… The more the merrier!
• You don’t have to have a boat to be in the Social Cruise Group. While having a boat is preferable, the friendly Members are more than happy to bring aboard a few extra people to join in the fun.
• There is no cost involved in any of their events. You just need to cover running costs of your vessel and BYO food and drink.

Contact details can be found on the SCG page on the website.

Trailer Boating – Your Club Magazine

The June edition of Trailer Boating has been released and it is bigger and better than ever! Filled cover to cover with news, information and a special Fishing Classic lift out, it’s a fun read with something for everyone. We have already started working on the next issue, and are calling out to all Club Members who think they have a cover worthy photo. If you think you’ve got the pic, email it to office@mbtbc.com. Please remember we need high resolution (300dpi), print quality photos.

Fishing Classic Countdown

Congratulations to Matthew Collins of Warwick – winner of the $1000 BCF Voucher!

Thanks to everyone who got their entries in before June 30 and took part in this preliminary prize draw. With over $200,000 in prizes to be won at the comp, there are plenty more opportunities to score big at the Fishing Classic.

With one month till the Classic kicks off, it is time to make sure your entry form is in. Entries are coming in thick and fast, making this an even bigger event than the 2009 comp.

If you’re thinking of basing yourself at Straddie, contact the office to book your spot on the Calypso Flyer for opening and closing nights. For $40 return the flyer will bring you to mainland and back for all the fun – including the Major Prize Draws on the final night.

Just a reminder that this year we are not creating photo ID. We will be issuing entrant cards to every competitor, including juniors, to be worn on a lanyard. Full and Associate competitors will be asked to carry official photo ID (drivers license, 18+ card, passport). We don’t expect juniors to have photo ID for the event. To claim prizes, we ask that junior competitors are accompanied by a parent or guardian carrying ID.

For info and entry forms visit www.moretonbayfishingclassic.com.au.
